I'm heading to Virginia's home in Queens to spend time with her kids. I approach her house dreading the reality that she will not be there. The walk down 22nd Avenue from the bus feels too long, even though it's one block.
Spending time with them brings me some solace. There so much of you in them. Even though Sonia's only 6 and Ian's 3, they have a lot of your personality traits. Especially Sonia, she looks so much like you when you were a kid.
